These hooks are Midwest made by a skilled artisan to give rug hookers the "Ritchie" imported hook that had been produced in England. The have a nice, substantial handle with a stainless steel 9mm shaft of the hook. They are very light by comparison to some of the larger brass shaft hooks. Held in the palm, the knob at the handle give good grip with less hand strain due to the larger diameter. The overall length is about 4-3/8”. I have been told that the bent hook in this larger size hook is easier to hook the hand torn or 10 cut strips. I haven’t hooked that large so I can’t confirm this.

I have carried these hooks for many years but now, the maker has retired so my supplier will be in search of a new maker. The hooks I have now are all I will have for now and when they’re gone, they’re gone, until a new maker is found.
